After three months of not stepping out of our home, we finally got to go out for a short outing. Though most of the temples are closed we still headed towards ISKCON NVCC temple here in Pune. It’s a beautiful temple cum cultural centre.
We have visited the temple and it’s giftshops many many times earlier, however, yesterday for the first time I stepped into their Jivadaya department warehouse. This department exclusively deals with distribution of books written by Srila Prabhupada and his disciples. Srila Prabhupada had famously said that even after his departure from this world he will continue to live through his books. Hence the Jivadaya department is close to the hearts of the followers of ISKCON.
The books were beautifully organised in IKEA warehouse style shelving for easy access. Personally, I felt purified at that moment of being there.
We bought this beautiful book. Can’t wait to start reading this because it’s about that period of time when Prabhupada and his disciples were facing great difficulty to build Juhu ISKCON temple in Mumbai. Many who have read his biography will know of those turbulent times.
