Before the Internet, a person with vast knowledge was considered intelligent. A person who can multitask was the best kind of worker. One who can talk well was a leader.
Internet has revised these conclusions. Today, a person with good hands-on experience in a small area of a particular field is sort after. Someone who can work at one task at a time with zero distraction is an asset to a company. One who can listen and talk less but do more is a leader.
Too much information on every known field is accessible practically at the tip of your finger. There is so much information that’s bombarding at every second, that we are losing the ability to even sit and enjoy our favourite song when someone sends it to us. Halfway through the song, another app flashes ‘the most important info that’s not to be missed.’
Well, I am going on an information detox!
