I am a writer and an illustrator. I try to create visual impacts through words and striking expressions through illustrations. With an MA in English Literature, I taught Business English at Engineering and MBA colleges for seven years. I later moved to the UK, along with my husband and son, where I stayed for five years and started to write my debut novel, Anita: End of a Beginning, and published my first children’s picture book, Story of Lord Jagannath. Born and raised in the beautiful hills of Nilgiris, I presently reside in Pune, India, with my wonderful husband and two lovely sons. I am passionate about writing, particularly when it comes to themes that delve into human nature, and I focus on what makes a person tick.
I constantly ponder the events that happen in people’s personal and collective lives and wonder if there is a pattern to all of it. As a little girl, I used to look up to the night’s sky and wonder if we were alone in the vast universe. During my teenage years, I concluded that every living being comes with a set of pre-designed actions to be performed and that there was no escape. However, as my spiritual quest intensified, it opened new avenues of knowledge that made me question every conclusion I had previously come to. I was gradually able to see how both karma and free-will act simultaneously, making every day a thrilling experience that is unique to every person. Through my writing, I try to explore this plethora of emotions as they can make people act in so many different ways.Deeply rooted in the ancient Indian philosophy, I find human nature and its variegation intriguing. My debut novel is an expression of my own search into the realities of life.
