After almost a decade of researching about farming and self sustainable living, my husband and I finally took the big leap and bought a piece of land near Pune. With limited resources and great enthusiasm we want to make an effort to build a sustainable farm.
To start with, we wanted to fence the property and secure it with a good gate. However, the monsoon rains started and we couldn’t get the poles buried in the ground on time. So after three months we are still waiting for fencing work to be done.
We got a hydrologist team to detect water just before the rains started which was the right time to do. It was the driest part of the year and the ground water is bound to be at its lowest level. Once the rains stops our number two job would be to sink a borewell.
